TOKYO – Tadano has announced a global partnership with Danish wind power manufacturer Vestas to develop and sell wind turbine nacelle cranes designed specifically for use with Vestas’ V236 offshore wind turbines.

The Japan-based Tadano commented that though crane specifications cannot be disclosed at this time, the offshore use-case and the high winds and salinity of these environments will require the machines to feature high durability and ease of maintenance.

“This collaboration with Vestas will bring great value to our company, and we hope that our contributions to the offshore wind power field through our products will expand even further, not only in Japan but also worldwide,” the company said.

The partnership officially kicked off with a signing ceremony between Tadano’s president and CEO, Toshiaki Ujiie, and Raphael Huot, VP and head of procurement APAC for Vestas at the Danish Embassy in Shibuya, Tokyo.
