The Lifting Equipment Engineers’ Association (LEEA) has named Alex Beltrao as the organization’s new director of compliance.

As director of compliance, Beltrao will be responsible for providing technical advice, creating guidance documents and developing new standards and legislation on behalf of LEEA’s global membership. Beltrao will work closely with LEEA’s senior management team and CEO Ross Moloney to further the strategic development of the organization.

Beltrao brings a decade of civil engineering and steel structure experience to the role, including a role representing the construction sector as program manager for the European Committee for Standardization and most recently working for the UK’s Tata Steel.

“With the expansion of LEEA to members in new geographies, new markets and new stakeholders in the supply chain, the challenge is to adapt and grow our knowledge base and services in a way that is relevant to them and helps them to improve the safety of the industry,” said Beltrao.
