Kito Crosby appoints Technology Solutions division lead

RICHARDSON, TX – Rigging and crane accessory manufacturer Kito Crosby has appointed Peter Hird to the role of commercial & business development lead for its Technology Solutions division.

Kito Crosby’s Technology Solutions division includes the Crosby Straightpoint and Crosby BlokCam products, the latter of which Hird helped co-launch in 2015 prior to its acquisition by Crosby in 2021.

Since the acquisition, Hird has served as business development manager for the BlokCam product line, with this new role broadening his responsibilities in shaping the commercial strategies, business development initiatives and market presence of Kito Crosby’s BlokCam and Straightpoint products.

Hird has worked in the industry since 1984, beginning with the crane rental business founded by his father, Peter Hird, in the UK. Taking over from his father as managing director of the company in 2004, Hird would go on to found Compact Lifting Equipment in 2008 before launching the BlokCam product.

The BlokCam product line includes wireless camera and alert sustem for installation on the booms and hook blocks of mobile, crawler and tower cranes.

Kito Crosby emerged in October 2023 as a result of Crosby’s acquisition of Kito a year prior.
